Boost Mobile Affordable Connectivity Program: How to Apply for Boost Mobile ACP?

American wireless service provider Boost Mobile is a subsidiary of Dish Wireless. It provides access to T-Mobile and AT&T’s expansive networks, cell phones from the most reputable brands, cost-effective plans, tons of special offers, and many other benefits to its consumers. Additionally, Boost Mobile once participated in the CARE pilot program (which concluded on June 30, 2021), as well as the EBB initiative (which expired on December 31, 2021).

The Emergency Broadband Benefit, sometimes known as EBB, was a brief government aid scheme established by the FCC to assist people and families who were having trouble paying for internet access due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Customers who qualified for the EBB were entitled to discounts of up to $50 per month for internet services and up to $75 per month for families located on tribal territories. Some EBB providers additionally offered a one-time $100 discount on a desktop, laptop, or tablet in exchange for a copayment of at least $10 but not more than $50.

Up to its end on December 31, 2021, Boost Mobile participated in the EBB program. Customers can no longer apply for Boost Mobile EBB benefits as of this date.

However, the Affordable Connectivity initiative, a new permanent government initiative created to finance digital tools for low-income families, has taken the role of the interim EBB program. Through this new initiative, qualified clients can receive a one-time discount of up to $100 when buying a computer as well as a $30 (or $75 on Tribal territory) discount on internet services.

The new ACP program is not now available from all former EBB providers, but fortunately, Boost Mobile does. As a result, consumers who are ACP-eligible can sign up for the Boost Mobile ACP program as of December 31, 2021.

What Benefits Are There to Being Eligible for the Boost Mobile Acp Program?

The previous Boost Mobile EBB (or Emergency Broadband Benefit) program will be replaced by the new and ongoing Boost Mobile ACP (Affordable Connectivity Program) on December 31, 2021. Prior to December 31, 2021, customers who have signed up for the Boost Mobile EBB program would continue to receive their monthly benefit throughout the 60-day transition period, which will finish on March 1, 2022.

Customers who meet the requirements for the Boost Mobile ACP (formerly known as the Boost Mobile EBB program) may use their discount for free service on any of the following plans:

  • A 7GB Unlimited phone plan provides unlimited texts, voice minutes, and 7GB of 5G or 4G internet, all of which can be used at slower rates.
  • Tablet strategy
  • A mobile hotspot package with a 7GB per month cap on 5G or 4G data usage

The plan must cost $30 per month, or else you can use the ACP discount to receive a $30 discount on other plans that are currently offered. There can only be one discount per qualified household

On tribal land, qualified households can receive one free Boost Mobile ACP 35GB smartphone plan, worth $60 per month, or a 7GB tablet plan, worth $30 per month, or a mobile hotspot plan.

When enrolling, new users can choose an ACP-reduced plan by using the given Promo Code.

On the other hand, current customers can pay for plan charge costs at activation using an ePIN that has been supplied.

Limitations of the Boost Mobile ACP Program

As with all government assistance programs, including ACP’s predecessor, the EBB program, the FCC has imposed restrictions and limitations on the new Affordable Connectivity Program. These ACP restrictions apply to every ACP program offered by every ACP provider. Among the ACP restrictions are:

If your household income is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines, if you participate in another government assistance program such as Lifeline, SNAP, or Medicaid, if you were approved to receive benefits under the free and reduced-price school lunch program or the school breakfast program, if you received a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year, or if you are receiving WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) benefits, you are eligible to participate.
  • One ACP benefit per household is available.
  • The ACP benefit cannot be transferred.
  • If they no longer qualify for the discount, customers must notify the provider within 30 days.
  • Customers must use the service at least once per month to make a voice connection, send a text message, or access data.
